Welcome to St Andrew's
Welcome to the exciting website of St Andrew's Church, Bentley, Walsall.
Over the past couple of years this website has been modified and upgraded with thanks to the Revd Mark Spiers. It continues to attract many new and regular visitors every week looking in and seeing what is going on, to ask for prayer and see our weekly Newsletter.
Our little church has had a witness on this post war estate for over 70 years. In fact, I came to the Sunday School here in the 1950s. Our facilities now are beyond recognition of those early days.
Within this website you will see how busy St Andrew's is. Apart from the regular weekday meetings of Bible Study and Holy Communion there is much more for you to get involved in. Our Coffee and Chat on a Monday has become a firm favourite for people to meet up. The Wednesday Luncheon Club has about 30 regular members. Our Friendship Club has developed into a popular midweek break and our Youth Club sees 30 to 50 youngsters aged between 5 and 12.
Many Community Groups also use our facilities, including Slimming World, the well attended Bentley West Ladies Group, a Dance Club and the local Operatic are all regular users. Saturdays can see the Chrysanthemum Society, or the RSPCA, or other charities or private hirers using our facilities too.
But really, the main reason for St Andrew's Church is the regular Sunday worship. This website tells you about our three Sunday services. You are sure to find something to suit your spiritual needs at St Andrew's. Our 10am service uses a modern language service sheet, this is followed by Messy Church at 11:30am which has guitars and effectively uses the modern technology available to us. Our 6pm evening service is always traditionally Prayer Book and is the most popular of all our services.
One more significant blessing St Andrew's offers is the support of a team ministry. I am blessed to have two Presbyters in the Revd Mark Spiers and the Revd Paul Reynolds. Our Messy Church is lead by Bishop Paul and Revd Mark and Matthew leads worship on his guitar.
A new part of this website contains testimonies and an opportunity for you to share with us your unique journey with the Lord.
I do pray that you will enjoy your tour around this website and, if it is practicable, see you at one of our Sunday services.
Every blessing
Bishop Paul
