Celebrating Holy Week and Easter Together at St Andrew’s
We had a truly special time together as we journeyed through Holy Week and celebrated Easter as a church family.
Our week began with Holy Week prayers Monday to Wednesday. Each session of prayers were well-attended.
We had a special Maundy Thursday Communion service, where we gathered to remember the Last Supper.
On Good Friday, we held our “Around the Cross” service. This was a deeply moving time, as we walked through the events of the crucifixion with readings, prayers, songs and moments of stillness. It gave us space to reflect together on the significance of the cross. We gathered on our little green hill, not so far away, to be a witness to the passing community as reminder of Jesus’ sacrifice.
Then came the joy of Easter Sunday. It was wonderful to welcome over 130 people through our doors as we celebrated the resurrection of Christ. The church was filled with a real sense of joy, hope, and togetherness.
Our Messy Easter service had over 60 attending With over 80 eggs hidden around the church grounds, during our Easter Egg Hunt, it was fantastic to see so many children and families getting involved. There was plenty of excitement, laughter, and a bit of friendly competition!
We’re so grateful to everyone who joined us and helped make the week so special. From the quieter, reflective moments to the joyful celebrations, it was a powerful reminder of what Easter is all about, and it was a joy to share it together.
